Pendulum’s SOLANOIR Party

The East Crossroads District of Kansas City has emerged as an epicenter of the creativity community.  Long before it was cool to live, work, and play in the “neighborhood” businesses that we’ve collaborated with like Dale Frommelt of Egg Design, The Wade Brothers, Real Fake, The Guild, RW/2 Productions and Pascal Meya of Meya Metalworks called this small corner of Kansas City home.

When we heard about the plans to host a Street Art and Creative Festival in the East Crossroads with the 2017 solar eclipse as the backdrop we were excited.  Then we were asked to sponsor and participate in the event and we were honored. Then we heard that one of the headlining artists (Alex Senna) was particularly interested in using our building as his canvas and we were 100% geeked out!

This video captures just a small portion of the festivities as the events of the week wrapped.  Thanks to our family and friends that came out and showed support…we see you!

Crosstown Substation Update

In preparation for the official unveiling scheduled for June 7th rapid progress is being made on site in spite of the rain.  Installation of the plaza light bollards along 18th street as well as the finishing touches on site grading and landscape was completed today.  Programming of the lighting/art installation began this evening and will continue through early next week.  The artist niches will get a fresh coat of paint just in time for the ceremony.

If you’ll be in the neighborhood (18th & Locust) on June 7th (“First Friday”) around 6pm please be sure to stop by and enjoy the festivities.  Jim Woodfill’s light display in the main art cabinet is a must see.  For a sneak peek of tonight’s light programming session check us out on instagram (pendulum_kc)
